Amitabh Bachchan: Amitabh Bachchan, who started his film career with the film 'Seven Hindustani' in 1969, is still the biggest Bollywood star in Bollywood. In the '70s, he got into politics to support his friend Rajiv Gandhi with the image of Angry Youngman and contested the Lok Sabha election of 1984. Amitji contested Allahabad seat against Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna and won with a huge margin of 68.2 percent votes. He soon realized that politics is not for him, so he resigned three years later and till date has not seen even turning towards politics.

Rajesh Khanna: In the year 1966, Rajesh Khanna started his film career with 'Last Khat' and later became the first superstar of the Bollywood industry. He had become famous for his brilliant performance in films such as Dreams of ladies, Doli, Ittefaq and Aradhana. Rajesh Khanna participated in the campaign of Congress on the advice of Rajiv Gandhi and on behalf of the Congress party, he also contested the Lok Sabha election. He was also a member of the Lok Sabha from New Delhi between 1992 and 1996. Tell you that Rajesh Khanna had defeated his friend Shatrughan Sinha with 25 thousand votes from the same Lok Sabha seat in the election.

Jaya Prada: The beautiful actress Jaya Prada made her a special identity in Bollywood. He became the leader of the Congress in politics and became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, NT Rama Rao brought his party into the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and brought politics into politics. But when NTR and his son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu pulled out of supremacy over the party, Jaya Prada went with Chandrababu Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu sent them to the Rajya Sabha in 1996. But due to differences with Chandrababu Naidu, Jaya Telugu Desam left the party and joined the Samajwadi Party. Jaya Prada became the MP after winning the election in the year 2004 and 2009. But later on he contested the National Lok Dal (RLD) ticket from Bijnor in 2014, but lost and crossed the politics.

Jayalalitha: Jayalalithaa started her film career in 1963 with an English film called 'Epiclal'. The hits he received in Bollywood were as successful as he did in politics. MG Ramachandran had included Jayalalitha in politics. Jayalalithaa several times became Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. But when MG Ramachandran passed away in 1987, the party was divided into two parts. One was in the hands of Jayalalithaa, the second was in the hands of MG Ramachandran's wife and cinema's actress Janaki. In 1989, Jayalalithaa won 29 seats and became Leader of the Opposition. In 1991, he again became the Chief Minister and he died as Chief Minister.

Jaya Bachchan: Jaya Bachchan, wife of Bollywood actress Amitabh Bachchan, has spent a lot of time with the Samajwadi Party. He represented Samajwadi Party in Rajya Sabha and was re-elected in the year 2012. He has been honored with the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India. Recently, the Rajya Sabha MP of the Samajwadi Party has also won the Best Female Parliament's Year Award.

Govinda: Govinda started his career in Bollywood with the film 'Illajam' in 1986. In order to capitalize on his popularity with Bollywood, Congress has fielded him in the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai in 2004 and is a five-time MP. He defeated Ram Naik, BJP's big leader, with 50 thousand votes. But despite this victory, Govinda did not get his stardom in politics. Therefore, he resigned from the Lok Sabha on January 20, 2008.

Shatrughan Sinha: Actor Shatrughan Sinha entered politics in the by-election contested by Rajesh Khanna in 1991 in the by-election. But he was defeated by Rajesh Khanna by 25 thousand votes. He lost both the election and his friend Rajesh Khanna. Later, Shatrughan Sinha's successful political tenure began after winning general elections in 2009 after defeating Shekhar Suman in Bihar's Patna Sahib constituency.

Hema Malini: Hema Malini, Bollywood's beautiful actress, whom she considers as a "Dream Girl", participated in the election campaign for actor Vinod Khanna in the 1999 Lok Sabha elections. Later Hemaji entered politics. NDA government led by BJP nominated him in the Rajya Sabha in the year 2003. In 2014, he defeated Mathura official Jayant Chaudhary (RLD) with 3,30,743 votes in the general elections.

Raj Babbar: Bollywood actor Raj Babbar entered politics in 1989 by joining the Janata Dal. Later, he joined the Samajwadi Party and was a Rajya Sabha member from 1994 to 1999. In 2006, he was suspended from the Samajwadi Party and he became a member of Parliament from the Indian National Congress in the year 2009. Raj Babbar serves as the President of the present Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee.

Kiran Kher: Actress Kiran Kher joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2009 and campaigned for the party from the entire country during the elections including the Chandigarh for the 2011 municipal elections. Later, BJP chose Lok Sabha candidate from Chandigarh for the general elections 2014 and defeated Congress MP Pawan Bansal, with 1,91,362 votes.
